okay... so i've been learning a whole lot from God this past week... praise God! itz been really awesome to hear His voice.. especially during my devos.. oh my... one in particular that i wanna share about is obedience and circumstance. so here goes... happy reading!!!
okay.. where to begin... well circumstances... especially difficult ones... in my devotions and time spent with God... i've been learning that often, God doesn't speak to us directly, in a loud, booming audible voice... instead, He speaks to us in a very indiscrete way.. thru our circumstances... and it makes a lot of sense... itz usually in our difficult times that we really seek the Lord.. and yah, itz true that we should seek Him even in happy times... truth be told, itz usually the tough times that usher us into time with God.. and the more time you spend with God, the more opportunities to see Him work and hear Him speak... so thaz the deal with circumstances.. so i guess when difficult circumstances and situations come your way... be prepared to see God work and hear Him speak... now.. obedience....
in my understanding.. obedience has alwayz been someone telling you what to do and you subsequently doing it... thaz what obeying was alwayz like to me.. well in my understanding... which was probably like a child's understanding of obedience.. but eh.. .still learning.. =) so yah.. anywayz... there'z really another side to obedience that goes a step farther than just doing what you're told, or not doing what you're told not to do... itz all about sacrifice... when you think about Jesus Christ, for Him to obey God, He had to sacrifice His life... and similarly, many times, for us to obey God and let Him rule in our lives.. it meanz we gotta give up something in our life.. whether it be a temporary "break" or a permanent one is really dependent upon what it is God wants you to do...and there'z the kicker... cuz the doing what you're told part is easy.. you can will yourself or make yourself do what you're told... but the sacrifice part takes more than just self-determination... it takes love, trust, and faith... love, cuz you gotta love God enuff to give up whatevr it is that you need to give up... trust that even tho u're giving something/someone up, He's got everything under control and knows what'z best for you...and finally faith.. perfect faith.. knowing that God's got a plan and that He's got a purpose for you... you just have to have faith that this temporary discomfort will only lead to better dayz ahead and a greater future for you... =)
well thaz my two cents for the day.. more like a dollar's worth.. hahaha.. =) remember.. in all thingz, God works for the good of those who love Him.. thaz a promise that we can cling to alwayz and forever... praise God!!!
